there isn't one...go under the car in the back by the tranny and there should be a bolt or i think its a plastic plug thing and you have to stick your finger in there and feel it
try checkin your timing belt it might not be right HUH??? I don't know how the timing could cause this, but... It sounds like the tranny is not shifting, especially since the engine runs up to 4000 RPM. Check your tranny fluid level. If good, try changing the tranny filter and fluid (1/2 days work and $120). Search this site for info on procedure. Otherwise, sounds like you may need a new transmission. Just don't tear into your engine looking for the timing belt. There's no way that you could rev it up to 4 grand with a bad timing belt! The explosion would be deafening!
if your looking for low dollar improvements i'd start in this order.replace your stock exhaust manifolds and add headers there are many types you can use this will gain horsepower as well as gas mileage ,replace your heavy iron stock intake for a after maket one edelbrock torquer 2 is what im using add a edelbrock 1405 650cfm 4 barrel and yer in the makings fer something sweet you could replace the heads like i did but if your not wanting to go that route at least port match your intake to the heads and as well as your exhaust ports to whatever your using for exhaust manifolds or headers. keep it cool make sure your cooling system is functioning properly a cooler engine delivers more horsepower. add a dual exhaust eliminating any amount of back pressure will result in a better breathing 305 thus making horsepower and improving gas mileage.make sure your tranny can handle all the improvements you perform you can install a shift kit if youd like at least make sure you replace your tranny filter and fluid.and lastly all the power in the world will make no use at all whatsoever if you do not i repeat do not have a good gear ratio out back so make sure you have the gears for it I'm using strange axles and currently using 3.55's i am proud to say there is not much that can get by me here in my home town good luck...add a Jacobs ignition sytem (kinda like accels but with better quality components)u will get instaly better throttle response being u have nice 8.8 accel or better wires, plugs, new fuel filter, underive pulleys,intake...with all that done or atleast some...easilt better response and better gas 15-30 hp with great gas.....under $600 for all...railmeat 1995 gmc 2500 305 v8
