What is Lolita Goth?

You must mean "gothic lolita". First of all, Lolita is a harajuku fashion in Japan that is supposed to make the girls (Or guys, but it's not very common for guys) look like Victorian porcelain dolls. Lolita in general is supposed to be modest and exquisite, as in the shoulders are often covered, the poofy skirt goes down to the knees, the heel of the shoe must be as thick as the actual heel, the hair must be neat, the makeup must be clean, etc. Lolita fashion does not involve cheap lace, shiny or cheap fabrics, stiletto heels, open toed shoes, plunging necklines, anime , legwarmers, fishnets, leather, PVC, etc. Gothic lolita is a subgroup of lolita fashion. There are more then ten groups of lolita fashion. In gothic lolita, the main color scheme is black and white, sometimes red. The clothing and accessories are oftentimes romantic or dark, such as intricate crosses, coffins, sheer black lace (lace used for funerals), chunky goth Mary janes, gothic cameos, etc. It follows all the rules for lolita fashion.

Who designed Lolita?

Contrary to popular belief, Lolita fashion has no true founder or anyone who actually pioneered the look (for example: Maru Quant and the mini skirt...Mana of Malice Mizer did not invent lolita). Although it did exist during the 1970s, it was not called lolita then (it was more or less, "Babydoll fashion"). There were many lolita fashion designers back then (I won't name names since I can't find the actual designer, but Angelic Pretty, a fairly famous lolita store, has been around since 1979) and it was a time when lolita didn't look the way it does today.

Weight and height requirements for Lolita fashion?

Although this question was under modeling, there are no specific weight and height requirements for wearing lolita. I've seen many lolitas from 5 foot to 6 foot tall wear the clothing well. What really matters, aside of understanding the fashion (such as how to wear, what constitutes as lolita, and where to buy) is actual body measurements. When buying or customizing lolita clothing, keep in mind of the basic silhouette. Ex: Skirts sit at the waistline (natural waistline; smallest part of the torso; across the bellybutton) and should be around knee length.

What is the origin of the name Lolita?

Lolita was the nickname of one of the principal characters in Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita. Lolita's actual name was Dolores, with whom the narrator, Humbert Humbert, develops a sexual obsession.Lola (diminutive: Lolita) is a common shortened name for Dolores in some Spanish-speaking countries. Nevertheless, "Lolita" and "loli" has come to be used as a general reference to a seductive or sexually attractive young woman.

Why Fashion does not refer to clothes only?

Fashion has gone from clothing to an art. It has become a creative form of art these days. It refers to the entire look. I don't really know why, but I guess it started in the early 1900's. That's when we made the transition from a seamstress making you clothes with alot of your input to actual fashion designers marketing clothing. Since then its just progressed.

What is the difference between Gothic and medieval?

Gothic is about the actual historical style of gothicism. For example, historical gothic clothing or items, like lace, candles, roses, crucifixes, etc. Gothic Lolita is a good example of gothic. Goth is more of the modern style of goth, however, it is not true gothicism, as many "goths" have not entered the same mindstate as "gothics." Most "goths" will wear all black and fingerless gloves, for example. Goth is much more like emo, in a way.

What is the fashion runway?

What did girls wear in 1930 in England?

There was no actual fashion for girls. Most teenagers dressed as their mothers did. This was mainly drab clothes and hand me downs. There were no vivid colours and clothes were not well fitted. Bonnets were often worn as head wear and wool was a popular material.

How important are models to fashion designers?

Models are very important to fashion designers. Without them, the designers wouldn't have anyone to showcase their designs in fashion shows or help with fit modeling purposes during the production phase. While mannequins can be used, they aren't as effective as having the clothes on an actual human being that can move around.
