I have some information for you. Do not attempt it. This is a very envolved job requiring many expensive parts. Unless you have a donor car to rob parts from, it would be very expensive. And even then it is a daunting task. Sell the one you have and buy a manual.


I've performed this swap on two Preludes, a 88 and a 90. Best done with a donor car.


The list of parts you need are:
Transmission
Flywheel and Clutch assembly
Shift Linkage
Pedal Assembly
Transmission Mount (passenger side frame rail
Clutch Hydraulic Assembly (Master and slave cylinder, etc)


This is a bolt in swap with a few cautions!


The Transmission mount uses captive nuts inside the right frame rail. The holes are there for the manual, but there are no nuts or spacers inside the rail. So the frame rail must be opened up and nuts and spacers welded in and the rail welded back up. Not a really difficult task if you are familiar with welding.


88 and 89 Preludes use a mechanical Speedometer, 90 and 91's use an electronic one. The 90 ,91 electronic sensor does not fit the manual transmission very well. You can do some fabrication to make it work, but a 90, 91 sending unit would be much easier. So a donor car of the same type would be better.


Likewise, if you want to swap the gauge that has the gear indicator, you need a replacement from the same style panel. 90, 91 or 88, 89.

You'll also have to jumper the connector to the Automatic Shift Linkage assembly to bypass the neutral start provision, and rig a switch for the backuip lights to work.
