The 1987 Toyota Camry does not have a carburetor. It is fuel injected.
There should be a diagram under the hood driver side for the vacuum hose information and a EGR settings sticker on the passenger side. Find a repair manual or maybe ask at the parts counter at a Toyota Dealer for a view. I have digital photos of my 87 FX stickers if that would help
Sounds like a bad float or needle and seat assembly. Time for a rebuild.
