i have the manual for the x type, it says firing order is 1,4,2,5,3,6 cylinder 1 is located (if you stand in front of car) lefthand side at the back, cylinders number 123 at back and 456 from left to right at front,, I had a bad misfire in a 2002 X Type 3.0 and the parts guy at Advanced read the OBC codes and said it was cylinder #2. I replaced the $35 distributorless ignition coil and the car now runs great. However, the above information was not true for this car. The Jaguar Electrical Manual on page 49 has the cylinder numbers located (if you stand in front of car) lefthand side at the back, cylinders number 135 at back and 246 from left to right at front.
