Are you sure it's got one?
Remove the front tires, from your Pontiac Grand Prix. Remove the brakes and rotors. Unbolt the axle from the suspension. Remove the axle.
it has no rear axle
36mm
if i remember right a 2004 grand prix is a front wheel drive motor so it wouldn't have a read axle just rear wheel bearing
118 Foot Pounds
If it only vibrates when you accelerate than it is most likely a bad axle.
118 with steel abs clip and 151 with a plastic abs clip.
My 2001 grand prix was doing the same thing,so i took it to the mechanic shop and they told me my cv axle and ball joints needed to be changed out.Got the parts and changed them out ,problem solved,no more shaking .Thank god.Cost me about 300.00 to get all that fixed......
if you are refering to the large axle nuts, they are 36mm. my 2002 i used 1 5/16 which converts to 33MM
if you mean a 2005 grand prix take tire off caliper rotors and 24mm bolt on to the front axle 13 mm bolts holding the wheel bearing and also disconnect the wheel speed sensor do not pull on the wire you will damage the sensor then have the abs light on
My 2000 Grand Prix would have a low-speed knocking noise coming from the drivers side as the CV axle was failing. The loss of lubrication in the CV Boots allows the joint to make a knocking/tapping sound at a low speed. If the knocking is coming from the engine compartment, then it could be an entirely different problem.
