if your airbag light is on it tells that something is wrong with the module, sensors, or clock spring..in order to find out what is the problem you would have to pay for the diagnostic, usually they charge about 70$. After they replaced they have to reset the airbag light. I would've buy one of those airbag reset tools online for about 50-100$ and do it myself saving hundreds.
You find problem and fix it . then the airbag light will go off.Airbag system checks itself and if no problem is found ,light will stay off.I just fixed a 42 on mine .bad connection. There is no reset on airbag monitor system.
TAke it to the dealer. They will have to find out what turned it on in the first place. The bag will not work with the light on.
You can't. You need to find out why it is on. Requires equipment to interface with the ECM.
Look under the passenger seat. You'll find a connector for the airbag. Clean this connector or at least check if the wires are connected properly...
Take the car to the dealer or a qualified repair facility that has a diagnostic set up called Vida and uses a VCT2000 data interface that connects to the OBD2 unit. Have the codes read and find out what caused the fault that turned the airbag light on.
What year, What car, What year. what make. We need this in order to answer this question.

most of the time it's dealer only. You may find a corner mechanic that may have a diagnostic tool to cancel it but it's pretty rare.
You'll need to find a shop with a code reader that reads ABS computer codes.
Turn the ignition key to the off position. If the light comes back on, the computer has detected the problem again. If so, you need to fix the problem. for full video instructions go to vehix411.com and there you should be able to find a video with detailed isntructions on resetting your airbag light. (There is an mes connector which you use to reset the light)
the light comes on to tell you of a problem there are codes that indicate a problem you need a scan tool to find the part involved and a diagnostic procedure to determine the repairs needed
