check that the neutral safety switch is engaging or working. this switch is usually on side of transmission u can also check for a blown fuse
The neutral safety switch is located, on your 2004 Chevrolet envoy, on the side of the transmission next to the shifting linkage. The safety switch also has a fuse in the fuse box.
If the shifter will not come out of park, check the brake light fuse. The shifter release solenoid uses the brake light switch to unlock the shifter.

Check to see if you have a bad stop light fuse. ON my Honda a blown stop light fuse shuts down power to the transmission lock out circuit. Likely a simple fix? Good luck
Clutch pedal lever. SWITCH IS AT THE TOP OF CLUTCH PEDDLE BUT THE OVER RIDE FUSE IS # 20 ON FUSE PANEL REPLACING THE FUSE WILL DISCONECT SWITCH.
