Where can you get parts for a model 1892 marlin rifle?
Parts for the model 1892 are tough to come by, especially if they are mag tube parts. Some parts for model 1892's can be found at Wisners Gun Parts. They have an internet site at: http://www.wisnersinc.com/
Your Winchester model 1892 which was made in the year 1911 could have considerable value. If you happen to have a take down model,or a rifle with a octagon barrel and in overall good condition. This could bring in excess of ,2000 dollars.I would have a member of the Winchester collectors assoc.evaluate your model 1892 and assess a accurate value to your rifle.
Yes there is.I personally have a marlin model 1894 cowboy ltd.that is chambered for the .45 colt cartridge.A few that come to mind is the rossi lever action carbine, the marlin model 1894,some Winchester model 1894 carbines, original Winchester model 1892 lever action carbines etc. With the revival of the cowboy action matches at gun ranges across the country gun makers are making more and more firearms that fire the .45 colt cartridge.
What is the age and value of a Marlin Model 1892 serial 76265 that looks original with a few parts missing?
Should date to 1893, but values would be impossible with so little info. That serial number would indicate a first year production, so 1892. Values with missing parts depend on what's missing, and the condition of the gun. It would be hard to get much more than a couple hundred dollars at best from a parts gun 1892. Certain parts are impossible to find, which may make it worth even less.
The Winchester 25-20 caliber was first chambered in the Winchester model 1892 rifle/carbine which was made from 1892.The last chambering that I have found was in the Winchester model 43 bolt action rifle that was produced from 1949-1957.I would surmise that this caliber was available from 1892-1957.
Only a factory record check will confirm date of mfg., but it appears to be 1900. Taken froma Serialization List of Marlin Arms rifles obtained on the Internet and seen in a reference book at my favorite gunsmith's, your Model 1892 would have been made in 1899. The list showed serial # from 175501 to 196000 as being manufacture that year.
