NO one actually knows. However, you can bet that they began to build houses and whatnot. Then they would of gotten busy, if you know what I mean, and started to have a lot of children. They would have had it pretty tough with everything being so wet, and having to control all the animals, because they wouldn't of gone straight away and fled to the corners of the earth, they would have stuck around a bit. I think.

Where did the different races come from in the Bible?

All persons alive today are the descendants of Noah (everyone except he and his sons and their wives perished in the Flood). Noah's three sons' names were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Shem's descendants, the Semetic people, settled Asia and the Middle East. Japheth's descendants settled Europe. And Ham's descendants settled in Africa and establishing the first great post-Flood civilizations, including Egypt (which is called the land of Ham in Psalm 78:51; 105:23, 27). For more specific information on a particular group of people, check out the genealogies in the Bible. But these are the basic divisions. Shem:Asian/Arab/Jewish/etc. Ham:African/Aboriginal?/etc. Japheth:European/Caucasian/etc.

Is Abraham a decendant of ham?

Nah, Abraham is a decendant of Shem. You can follow his bloodline in Genesis 11 after the tower of Babel story (obviously Abraham is still called Abram here).

Were did blacks come from in the Bible?

When the God flooded the earth there were but eight souls saved. Moses and his wife. Shen, Japeth and Ham and their wives. Shem and Japeth married within the covenant but Ham married outside the covenant in that he married a woman of the lineage of Cain who you will remember was cursed with a dark skin. This woman was named Egyptus after her mother. When the ark came to rest they went their separate ways, Ham and Egyptus went to a piece of land which they called Egypt. Most of their children and their childrens children were born with dark skins.

What is the significance of the number 500 in the bible?

Some have associated the number 500 with Judgement. This is probably from the verse saying Noah was 500 yrs old when He began building the Ark:Genesis 5:32New International Version (NIV) 32 After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.

How many generations are there between Noah and his sons and the tower of Babel?

Really what your probably interested in is the generations in the Jewish line, right? Most of these other guys go off to form their own nations. Many associate Japheth's europeans, Ham's with Asian and African peoples, and Shem with Middle easterners. So we'll follow Shem in Gen 10. 1. Shem 2. Arpachshad. 3. Shelah 4. Eber (Where we get "Hebrew") 5. Joktan 6. (who has 13 boys). It is at this point that it switches into the story of the tower of babel. The rest of Gen. 11 looks at the geneology of Shem too except this time it follows the other son of Eber: Peleg. This might be because Joktan's kids played a big part in the tower. It mentions that they are living in the east and the plain of shinar where the tower of babel was is in the east. Who knows? But to answer your original question, my best guess is 6 generations between Noah and the tower of Babel.

What did noahs youngest son do that merited a curse from his father?

Its actually a fairly amusing story. In Genesis 9:20-25, you can read that Noah got drunk and fell asleep naked in his tent (this is after the flood, by the way). Noah's son Ham then sees him laying there, and tells his other brothers, Shem and Japheth. Shem and Japheth are respectful enough to not look at their father as they cover him with a blanket. When Noah wakes up, he is angry at Shem for disrespecting him and cursed him.

The Bible does not explicitly mention whether Noah had more children after the flood. It only states that Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. It is possible that Noah had more children, but there is no direct information about that in the biblical narrative.

How can one scripturally discern the order of Noah's children from eldest to youngest?

You cannot, since Genesis 10:21 can be translated in two ways.Jewish tradition states that the order of their birth was Japheth, Ham, Shem (Midrash Rabbah 37:7; see also Talmud, Sanhedrin 69b).

Who were Noahs sons?

According to Genesis, we know the names of three of Noah's sons: Ham, Shem, and Japeth. Shem is the father of the "Semitic" races (or Shemitic - taking dialects into account). He may have had other sons, but they are not mentioned in the Bible.
