Grant did not live in any one place for very long. He was born in Point Pleasant, Ohio. The family moved to Georgetown, Ohio soon after he was born and that was his home until he was 17 and went away to West Point. He lived in Georgetown longer than anywhere else, I believe.
He was living in Wilton,New York when he died of throat cancer in 1885
He was in the service, posted out to the desert, where he missed his family so badly that he used to get drunk, and was possibly discharged for this reason.
He lived in San Francisco for a short time and then was sent to Fort Vancouver. Later, he can back to Fort Humboldt at Humboldt Bay, California near Eureka.

What was so great about Ulysses was that he was one of the most successful generals in his time. Ulysses S. Grant became the 18th president in 1869 until the year 1877. He died in the year 1885.
