I can't really say when it happened, but i how what it is and a few stories about it...

Rosa Parks ( a old black woman ) was on a bus and a white woman came up to her and told her to move because she wanted her seat, now there was plenty of other seat on that bus, but she chose to kick Rosa Parks out of her seat because she was black. But Rosa Parks did not move she stayed there. She eventually got arrested and i think she was taken to prison? im not sure maybe. But Rosa Parks not giving up her seat started the Boycott. No negro Americans took public transport until they desegregated them. Segregation is the parting of tow or more group. eg, black and white.

Black people soon had their rights and freedom, but still in 2009 some white people still have no respect for black people.

Yes she was taken to prison and Martin Luther King bailed her out. After, every coloured person did not catch any public transport although, they still waited at the bus stop but, they helped each other out by driving to the bus stops and dropping off each other until they got there freedom.

James Farmer, along with CORE, had a major part in the first African American sit-in that took place in Chicago, Illinois (1942).
