Here is a list of places that Magellan (and after his death, the crew of the Victoria) stopped at on the circumnavigation of the world.
Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer who tried to sail West to reach the Far East. Because he knew of the Americas (he came after Columbus), he was hoping to find a waterway through them. His voyage was financed by Spain, and he started out with five ships.
The expedition headed southwest across the Atlantic, making a short stop at the Canary Islands, and then moving on to the east coast of South America. They followed the coast southward, during which time there was a mutiny. After that, one of the ships, the Santiago, was wrecked in a storm while it was scouting for the rest of the group (all of the ship's crew survived the wreck).
Soon, the voyage arrived at the now famous Strait of Magellan near the southern tip of South America, but during the passage one of the ships, the San Antonio, deserted the fleet and went back to Spain. The remaining ships passed through the strait and then arrived at the Pacific Ocean. The ships passed the Marianas and Guam, and later arrived at the Philippines.
Here, the crew befriended a local ruler and converted him to Christianity. He then asked them to kill one of his enemies. They decided to help him (although at first reluctantly), and soon the ruler's enemy and the Spaniards fought a battle. Here, Magellan was killed. After the battle, there were no longer enough men to sail all three remaining ships, so they burned one of them (the Concepcion). The remaining two ships sailed to Borneo and to the Spice Islands (in what is now Indonesia).
Here, the Trinidad, one of the two remaining ships, began to take on water. It was clear it would need a lot of time to be repaired, but the other ship, the Victoria, could not supply and house the entire crew of the expedition. So the Trinidad stopped there to be repaired, and the Victoria continued on its way. When the Trinidad was repaired, it tried to head back east to get to Spain, but they were captured by the Portuguese, and the ship was wrecked while it was at anchor.
Meanwhile, the Victoria headed across the Indian ocean to the Cape of Good Hope. At that point, the only food left on the ship was rice, and 20 men died of starvation before the Victoria reached Cape Verde, a colony of Portugal. Here they reloaded, but he had to abandon 13 of his crew there. Only 18 men were aboard the Victoria when it finally arrived in Spain, and originally 287 men set out.
Although the Victoria made it all the way around the world, that was not originally Magellan's plan. That was the idea of Juan Sebastian Elcano, who was captain of the Victoria, after the death of Magellan.
