There are no extra fuses for your trailer lights. If you have the towing package (and you do) the trailer lights run through your regular fuses (tail, brake, turn).

The fuses in the 1989 Mercedes 300 control things like the lighting system, the door locks, the wipers, and the instrument gauges. The fuses also control the trunk latch and the turn lights and brake lights.
Check the blade fuses for the interior lights. You can find them under the steering wheel if you open the glove box thing under the steering wheel. You need to remove the box, which will have the diagram of al the fuses on it. Packet of assorted fuses £2. If that doesn't work check the bulbs.
Most likely in the fuse box under the steering wheel above the pedals.
If both day runners went out, I would check the relay and fuses in the main fuse box under the hood.

The cruise system shares fuses with the engine and brake lights. If the car runs and the brake lights work, it is not a fuse.
First check all your fuses. If they are good, then check for voltage from the headlight switch. If you have that, then the Light Control Module is bad. There is a brown wire coming from that module that controls the tail lights, licence plate lights, and running lights. You can also check by applying 12 volts to the brown wire and ground. If your lights come on, then for sure it is the light control module located under the dash by the steering column.
