The plug-in point for a Ford Transit Connect code reader is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side. Look for the OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics) port, which is usually situated near the steering column or just above the pedals. It may be covered by a small panel, so you may need to remove that to access the port. Once located, you can connect your code reader to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes.

To hook up a code reader to a 2000 Volvo, locate the OBD-II diagnostic port, which is typically found under the dashboard near the driver's side, just above the brake pedal. Plug the code reader's connector into this port. Once connected, turn on the vehicle's ignition (without starting the engine) to power the code reader, allowing it to communicate with the car's onboard computer. Follow the reader's instructions to retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes.
The plug is under the steering wheel, deep down and little bit to the left.

It could be the code reader or it could be a connector somewhere between the computer and the plug. Try a different code reader for now, see what happens. 1995 was in between OBDI and OBD II. A hybrid. Most shops cannot connect either. Dealers have the equipment.
