In the Power Steering reservoir on the front driver's side of the motor. It has a pulley attached to it. It located low between the fan shroud and the engine... The cap says power steering fluid... can't miss it.

A 1990 Nissan pickup truck has power steering. If the truck is displaying symptoms of not having power steering check the fluid levels and pump itself.

The power steering pump is in the engine compartment,to the right side,towards the rear of the engine

NO the transmission fluid will cause the seals in the pump to leak
Disconnect the return line (from the steering rack) at the power steering fluid reservoir. Place it in a drain pan. Run the engine while pouring the new fluid into the reservoir. After the new fluid starts coming out of the hose, shut off the engine, reconnect the hose and refill the reservoir.
