That year does not have 1. The timing is computer controlled and you MUST have an engine scanner to set the timing on that engine. A timing light will not work.
It does not have one. The timing is controlled by the computer. You must have a OBDII engine scanner to adjust the timing. If you did not have the distributor out are move it then there is no reason to adjust the timing. It is done automatically by the computer.
The 2003 Chevy Tahoe (both the 4.8 and 5.3L engines) have a timing chain, not a belt.
chain
You don't. The Chevrolet Tahoe does not have a timing belt. It has a chain which requires no scheduled replacement.
at what mileage do you change a 99 Chevy Tahoe timing chain.
It has a timing chain and gears. NO timing belt.
Answer If you are looking for the connection that must be dis-connected prior to setting the timing. Then you must open the glove compartment and find a grouping of taped wires behind the compartment. with-in this grouping of wire, look carefully; there is a small portion that can remove the tape then you will see a two wire (I think brown and white) with a connector. Disconnect, set the timing and then reconnect. What I think this does is, advances the timing to computer set. IT'S A SINGLE WIRE THAT IS LT BROWN W/A WHITE TRACE=====I don't believe there is a timing connector to put the vehicle into bypass mode on this year,on the older models yes,but this one I believe is pre-set and the timing can only be set by using a link, like a programmer, but you would be better off asking a garage to be sure
How do you set timing on 1988-1995 Chevy Tahoe moters 5.7l?

Thanks
No it will not because the96 Tahoe has a 4L60E electronic transmission in it. The 85 transmission is not a electronic transmission. WILL not WORK.
This truck has a computer controlled timing system. The timing is set at a base 0-2 degrees with the timing connector unplugged (single brown wire with a disconnect - usually under the passneger dash) Once you manually set & tighten the distributor at 0-2 degrees.... plug the timing connector back together. The timing at idle should now move to 10 degrees - give or take a degree.
