A good toy store, joke shop or retailer that specializes in Stage magic will carry Performance wands .
Most metaphysical book stores, and new age shops, will carry wands used for Ritual magic.
Many practitioners of magic make their own wands, using various woods, runes, symbols, sigals, metals, stones and gems for their particular needs. Instruction for the making can be found in Wicca by Scott Cunningham or Making Magick by Edain McCoy both published by Llewellyn.
There are several books for children that have instructions on how to make your own wand. One in particular I know of is The Book Of Wizard Craft by Janiice Eaton Kilby, Deborah Morgenthal, & terry Taylor, Published by Lark Books. It's a fun little book with many easy projects.

If you intend on using your wand in the practice of personal majick, or in Wiccan ritual, I would recommend you cut your own if possible. Choose a live tree (Rowan, Elder, Black Briar) and find a length of branch about 18" long. Run your hand along the tree and choose the length that "feels" like it belongs with you. It does not have to be straight but it should be no more than 3/4" at it's thickest end so you do the least amount of damage to the tree. Before cutting say a prayer to the God and Godess and thank them (and the tree) for providing its wood and energy for your wand.
