On the main body of the transaxle you will notice two allen screw plugs, one at the bottom and one on the side. These take a 17 mm size allen wrench available at many classic VW parts sources for little money. Fill the transaxle to the bottom of the side opening to where it just begins to run out. Of course if you wish you can drain the transaxle by removing the bottom one, might be a good idea if it hasn't been done in years.
