The negative cable is attached to ground. On some cars is attached to the frame and on some it is attached to the engine.
Connect the positive first and negative last.
the battery will have a - mark on it which means neg., and the cable that is bolted to the engine block is the neg. cable, the pos. cable will go to the starter.
One cable should go to the frame, and the other to the engine.
It grounds on the block.
the negative cable is the one tha go to the chassy or the engine . And the positive go to the fuse box.
disconnect negative side first.... then disconnnect all connections to the pos cable labelling as you go... replace with new cable... reconnect to battery.
The positive battery cable will be going from the positive terminal of the battery over to the starter solenoid. The negative battery cable goes from the negative battery post to either a bolt on the generator upper bracket or the side of the engine block. Typically, the positive cable is red, and the negative is black, but people do all sorts of odd things to their cars, like have the wrong colored battery cables, so, go by how they are routed, not by what they look like.
Take it to an experinced mechanic and do not pass go!
Yes. You can connect it to the block or the frame of the vehicle.
Remove negative battery cable. Turn on headlights. Wait 15 minutes. Turn off headlights. Replace negative battery cable. Better, go to Autozone, ask them to plug in their OBDII analyzer and hit "Clear". that way you do not clear the corrections the computer has added to the system and will have to relearn if you remove the battery cable. just remove the negative battery cable, wait 5 min,and put it back on,, computer will reprogram all by itself. Pre 1995 vehicles disconnect battery for 10 Minutes minimum Whats with turning on headlights with the battery cable removed? They will not work anyway
pretty straightforward, disconnect negative battery cable, remove and label wiring from starter, remove bolts from that connect starter to the transmission housing. Replace with new starter, attach mounting bolts, reconnect wiring, and negative battery cable, and ur good to go.
I suggest you buy a new car battery replacement in http://www.laptops-battery.co.uk/.
