Yes, absolutely. Sadly, during the 2008 election, a group of people who came to be known as "Birthers" put forward the myth that Mr. Obama was actually born in Kenya, and that his birth certificate was false. He was not born in Kenya-- he was born in Hawaii. It was his father, who has the same name, who was born in Kenya. And Barack Obama's birth certificate is legitimate; it has been verified numerous times, by both Republican and Democratic political figures, health inspectors, doctors, and reporters from CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, and yes, even Fox. I enclose a link to a copy of it, as well as to some of the most common myths about it. But despite conclusive and overwhelming evidence that President Obama is in fact an American citizen born in Hawaii, there remains a small group of people (about 13% according to some polls) who refuse to believe it, and who continue to deny the facts.

It is on file in the state of Hawaii, and has been repeatedly verified by governors, attorneys general, news reporters from all the major networks, professional fact-checking websites, personnel at the hospital where he was born, friends of the president's late mother, etc etc. Unfortunately, there is a group called the Birthers who refuse to accept that Mr. Obama is an American who was in fact born in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The original birth certificate was personally examined by the current head of the State of Hawaii Department of Health. He publicly stated that the original certificate is true and authentic and that Barack Obama was in fact, born in Honolulu, HI. The Republican Governor of the state of Hawaii has also validated the birth certificate and his birth in that state. Good question. Nobody really knows since we haven't seen it. The document currently on display on the White House web site, a Certificate of Live Birth and NOT a birth certificate, contains multiple fonts, penciled codes indicating that data was missing (but has been inserted in the displayed document), layers that indicate tampering and other issues indicating that the document has been tampered with or created (forged).

Yes. He was born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. This has been verified repeatedly by fact-checkers, the media, and two governors of Hawaii, one a Republican and one a Democrat. To see an actual copy of his official Hawaiian birth certificate (long form version) we enclose the link to it. It was never lost. Obama has made public an unsigned "certification of live birth," which "birthers" -- people who doubt the president's citizenship -- claim is not the same as a birth certificate. The Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, two Hawaii newspapers, however, have produced August 1961 birth announcements for Obama. Meanwhile, Linda Lingle, Hawaii's Republican governor since 2002, has confirmed that the president was born in the Aloha State.

Yes, even before he was elected, the existence of the certificate of his birth in Hawaii was verified.

Debates on the meaning of "certificate of birth" versus "birth certificate" versus "certification of a birth" or whatever the current debate is, only serve to show that if someone has it in for another, and wishes to be silly enough, that one can never have positive proof of anything.

But in the real world, for those who harbor no huge feelings for or against the man, he is - no matter what his beliefs - a citizen of the United States, and it's current legally elected President.

These documents have been verified as authentic by two governors, Hawaii's attorney general, the state Director of Health, various fact-checking sites, and every major news organization. Yes. He has shown both the long form and the short forms to the public and several judges. Both forms have been verified authentic by the Hi. Department of Health, the agency that actually issues all birth certificates in Hi.
