In 1811 Germany as a nation did not yet exist. Where Germany is on the map today there were dozens of "Germanic states". One of the largest of these was Prussia, whose capital was Berlin. Pomerania was a province of Prussia. Pomerania had been fought over and divided many times, but at that time most, if not all of historical Pomerania was consolidated into this Prussian province. Pomerania was/is in the most extreme northeast corner of Germany, on the south shore of the Baltic Sea. Pomerania as part of Prussia became part of Germany when Germany was united into one nation by Bismarck in 1871. After losing the First World War Germany lost part of Pomerania to the newly resurrected nation of Poland, which had disappeared from the map two centuries earlier. Germany lost more of Pomerania after losing WWII. Today Pomerania is divided about half in the northwest corner of Poland and the other half over the boundary in northeast Germany. With the change in national government many places got a different name. For instance, the German city of Danzig is now Gdansk. The name of this town may have changed, or it may have been a village, too small to appear on most maps. I'm going to try to attach a link to a map from the 1880s as a "related link" below. You might try to contact the Polish Embassy and see of they have access to better information, if you can't spot it on this map. Click on the map to enlarge it.

Has Poland ever been a part of Germany?

Poland as whole has never been 'a part of Germany'. However, the borders of Poland have moved considerably over the centuries. In 1945 large areas of eastern Germany were transferred to Poland - Silesia, most of Pommerania, most of East Prussia and a large part of Brandenburg. The Germans living in these areas were forcibly moved westwards.

Was austria ever part of prussia?

Usually not. However, during the Seven Years' War a part of Prussia briefly became Russian from 1758 until 1763. After World War 2 a part of Prussia became Russian again. This "Russian Prussia" is called Kaliningrad Oblast. The other parts of (Old Baltic) Prussia are now part of Poland and Lithuania. Prussia has two meanings: The (German) Kingdom of Prussia on one hand and Old/Baltic Prussia on the other hand. The Kingdom of Prussia got its name from the original Baltic Prussia (in Old Prussian language it is called "Prūsa"). The original Baltic Prussia was the easternmost province of the Kingdom of Prussia. That Province of Prussia inside the Kingdom of Prussia was most of the time parted into East Prussia and West Prussia.
