The Appalachian Mountains are located in eastern North America in the countries United States of America and Canada. The Appalachian Mountains are mainly located in the United States but they spread into south-eastern Canada. It forms a district which the distance is between 100-300 miles wide. It extends from the island of Newfoundland and runs about 1500 miles south-west to the inner section of Alabama. The foothills from the Appalachian mountain reach are found in the north-eastern part of Mississippi. Each (separate) mountain range about 3000ft while the highest elevation point is Mount Mitchell located in North Carolina at 6684ft.
