According to my Chilton repair manual the Dodge / Plymouth 360 cubic inch V8 is : firewall 8 - 7 6 - 5 4 - 3 2 - 1 front The spark plug firing order is 1 - 8 - 4 - 3 - 6 - 5 - 7 - 2 The distributor rotor turns CLOCKWISE
It is the front driver side cylinder.
There should be no way for transmission fluid to be getting into a cylinder on a DOdge 360.
On a DODGE 360 cubic inch V8 engine : firewall 8 - 7 6 - 5 4 - 3 2 - 1 front
the 360 l.a. engin came fatory with a 4" bore
Driver side 1-3-5-7, pass side 2-4-6-8
The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the FRONT and center of the engine
Facing your engine, on the right side and closest to the radiator.
it is the cylinder closest to the battery.
Dodge: front driver side.
Front driver side
Facing the engine on the right closest to the radiator is #1 then 3 5 7 to your firewall. Otherside, on the left closest to the radiator is #2 then 4 6 8.
Looking at the engine, the #1 cylinder will on your right hand side of the block, very first cylinder.
