As far as I know , the 1995 Ford Explorer doesn't have a SEPARATE module for the 4 WD . That is also handled by the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ) and I believe that is in the center stack of the dash and that you have to remove the radio to actually change it
The electric fuel pump is inside the fuel tank
On a 1995 Ford Explorer : In the center stack of the dash , just to the left of the radio , is a rotary dial that selects the positions of the Control Trac 4x4 system ( 2 WD , 4 WD AUTO , 4 WD LOW ) With the engine running ( as long as the back wheels are not slipping ) turn the selector from 2 WD to 4 WD AUTO , then if the back wheels start to slip , some of the power is transferred to the front wheels ( it's the " set and forget " position that can be used on dry surfaces , and in the rain and snow ) If you want to select 4 WD LOW ( for off road use because of the limited speed ) With the engine running , your foot on the brake pedal , shift to NEUTRAL , select 4 WD LOW and then after the " 4 WD LOW " light comes on in your dash , shift into gear
i suggest try spraying wd-40 where the glass slides. if that doesn't it's gonna be the window regulator.
That is indicating a malfunction - could be just a sensor
According to ( www . fuel economy . gov ) no spaces : A 1996 Ford Explorer , 4x4 , automatic , 4.0 liter V6 engine gets : ( 13 MPG city / 19 MPG highway - U.S. gallon )
Hello , I have a 2007 advancetrac explorer and was wondering if you can turn off the auto 4x4 to have 2 WD only. Or does it turn off its self once you reach a certain speed. trying to improve my gas mileage.
spray some WD 40 on the key. Try and turn. If it still won't turn, spray a little of the WD 40 in the key slot. It should turn with ease. Spray key every other month and insert to keep cylinder lubricated.
I had the same problem had someone push down hard on the front hood while I pulled the inside hood release then put wd 40 lubricant.
it is the sensor in one of your doors the suv thinks the door is open and its letting you know spray wd 40 in the hole of the doors it will work for a while ford wants over $400 to fix them I also have a 2002 explorer and mine did the same thing and still does till I spray all the doors
some of them were on recall for the striker on the hood My hood latch was sticking.. I sprayed wd-40 and put some white petroleum grease all over the latch assembly.. No more sticking..
Could be: Power steering pump Alternator bearing Water pump Belt tensioner or in drive train
