If I'm not mistaken, it's in the same location as my 98 Ranger. That would be in the passenger side kick panel. You have to remove the plastic panel, and it will be in there. The way you'll know it's the right switch is that there should be a reset button on top of the switch. If you are trying to relieve the pressure in your fuel system to work on it, say to r and r the fuel filter, once you unplug it, and have cranked the motor to relieve the pressure, then have plugged it back in once your work is complete, go ahead and hit the reset switch just to be sure it works.
And, don't forget to start the motor before you put the panel back on. don't make the same mistake I did! -Jay

The fuel cutoff / inertia switch is located in the trunk on the left side quarter panel under the carpet. Most have a rubber boot on them.

i presume you are refering to the inertia fuel cutoff switch. it is located next to the air ride cutoff swithch in the trunk
According to the 2002 Ford Ranger owners manual , the inertia switch ( fuel pump shut off switch ) is located in the front passenger footwell by the kick panel
