That's a threaded type , so it has to be screwed into the upper intake manifold
The sensor is in the intake manifold (MFI engines) or air cleaner/tube (SFI engines).
Usually the Throttle Position Sensor is located by the intake manifold, usually at the end of your air intake.
Coolant temperature sensor is locatedat the front of the intake manifold near the upper radiator hose.
it sets on the fire wall just above the intake body. it has a vaccum line running to the intake body.
89 lbs. top & bottom
the haynes book states 89 in pounds
mass air flow sensor
Most likely you would have to replace the whole MAF. However, when I saw that code in my '89 V6 AT Camry there was also the code for the TPS (throttle position sensor). Because it wasn't idling correctly I chose to replace the TPS first, consequently the Air Intake Temp Sensor code never came back after I had completed the repairs (including following the manuals instructions for proper adjustment of the TPS) and cleared the codes.
The MAP sensor is located on the passenger's side strut tower. There is a solenoid connected to it by a short piece of hose, and a hose runs from that solenoid to the intake. The MAP sensor will have a 3-pin electrical connector on it.
After recently completely changing out a 1992 cab to a 1995 cab, there insn't anything i dont know about this year of cab (89-95). i had this problem once and i had to make sure that my mass air flow sensor was completely hooked up, I only have the 22re motor, so there is a large tube from the intake to air filter and that tube has to be completely hooked up, that air flow sensor is like a throttle sensor, your pedal opens the air with a "gate" on intake and the sensor senses air flow to give more actions after that, if its disconnected, it will only run while pumping the pedal, and in some cases not even that. any other questions email me kc0tdw@kc0tmo.com
On the 89- 300zx the mass air flow sensor is located under the panel that is between the head lights. remove the panel and you will find the air filter box. the maf is bolted directly to the filter box
i have seen them on the intake, head, and thermostat housing also on the block in front
