How do I change oil and oil filter on 2000 Volvo v40 1.9turbo
The oil filter is located underneath the engine, passenger side. You will see it in a black plastic housing. The Volvo S40 doesn't use a traditional metal style oil filter. You can order the filter from your Volvo dealer or K&N makes one as well, model # HP-7002. You will need a special wrench to remove the filter, you can order this from your Volvo dealer or from Amazon.com (search for Volvo S40 filter wrench), made by AST/Assenmacher, cost is roughly $14.00.
Remove the splash shield from under the front of the engine. The oil filter is located at the left lower corner of the front of the engine
Why did sringeri Srinivas want to get his hair cut
It is located under the engine to the side of the block unscrew the black hosing and the cartridge is inside
It is located towards the front of the engine, underneath I believe the intake. It is a little difficult to reach because it is underneath some tubing but you can buy an oil wrench made specifically for Volvo.
Requires a special wrench tool. Look on eBay for "Volvo Oil Filter Wrench" They are about $10.
With new oil filter, four quarts.
No difference....
