It is right behind the distributor. It is about 3 to 4 inches long with an electric wire pluged into it. It is trickey to remove.
The 1986 Chevrolet Cavalier oil pressure sending unit can be found on the left-hand side of the engine. The oil pressure sending unit will be above the oil pan.

Yes you can. There the same. Just take the parts / sending unit out of the 1987 tank and install them in the 1986 tank.
Look at the top of the engine at the rear center
Left of the bottom left corner of the battery.
The oil pressure sending unit is mounted to the oil filter housing on the back of the engine. If you look up from under the car at where the oil filter is there is a wire connector that attaches to a piece on the side of where you screw the filter on. That is the oil pressure sending unit.
I have a 94 e150 w/351 or 5.8 liter and the sending unit is found on the lower right front of the engine facing the engine.
1987 is the last year for a carburetor.
It is in the throttle body.
