easiest to pull blower motor then you can get at resistor, best to have a flexible extension (not a swivel) and you can access the bolts easier
it is under the clove box behind the blower motor you will see it if you look its a black box
A blower resistor can be replaced, in your 2002 Oldsmobile, by removing the resistor wiring. Remove the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new resistor.

To change the blower motor resistor in a 2002 Nissan Maxima, locate the blower motor resistor under the glove compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle. There is a clip that is depressed and then the resistor will slide out. Remove both ends of the resistor and then replace with the new resistor.
Generally the blower motor resistor is found close to the blower motor. It relies on the blower motor to keep it cool.

The blower motor resistor is located right beside the blower motor which is on the right side of the instrument panel. You'll have to remove the lower insulator panel to see it. Remove the wiring connector and I believe there is 3 screws that hold the resistor in
