Since you had to unplug the wire connector, there is most likely damage to the connector. Check it carefully.
its located just forward of the battery and just behind the left headlight. it has pink wires.
timing should be set at 10 degrees BTDC. be sure you unplug the spout connector before you adjust the timing.
I don't think you will find points on a '94
The 1994 Mercury Topaz has a chain and not a belt.
a white connector underneath the steering wheel
If you look under the hood by the distributor there will be a pigtail coming off of the wires. there is a chip that has to be pulled to set the timing. On the 94's and 95's the spout connector is on the passenger side of the under hood area, near the air box, not like the 87-93 5.0's that have this connector right off of the distributor...
your truck does not have a bypass connector
well since there is no such thing as a 95 topaz, im going to assume u mean 94, and i bought one about a month ago for $47
Not sure this is on a 94 topaz, they all have drum brakes in the back unless it's been modified. So therefore you might need a new calliper or a wheel cylinder.
Check all the fuses, if all are good, check the shut off relay.
The 2.3 liter 4 cylinder and the 3.0 liter V6 have a timing CHAIN
