The wiring is back there for any CD player as well since there was no room in dash.

i just found out about 5 minutes ago from another website. I'll post the link in a sec.
basically, it's in the trunk. there are two clips you remove that are inside it on the driver's side. one is near the tailight, and the other is to the side near the wheel well. once you take em off, just pull the carpeting down, and you'll find the stereo unit mounted to the wheel well itself. you can unscrew it and unhook the wiring to take it off and out.

On my 2000 Mercury Sable LS, the CD cahnger is inside the arm rest compartment, which is very convenient place for it but it reduced the storage space for a couple of candy bars.

I would say that you don't have one. The radios are generic they can be used with or w/o CD changers. It is just the difference on the CD changer remote wire running to the back of the radio. There are only a few places that would be located. Trunk, glove box, middle console, or underneath one the seats. These are really the only places that the factory puts them.
