It should be located very close to the thermostat housing.

The ECT or the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is a switch. This switch is located on the bottom of the radiator in the 1996 Camry.
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor 4.6L Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor is on left side of the alternator according to the pictures on my Chilton's book. 5.4L Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor is on right side between the alternator and the top radiator hose / thermostat housing according to the pictures on my Chilton's book.
The coolant temp sensor is the two wire sensor located near to where the upper radiator hose hooks to the engine.
Assuming this is the 4.3 engine, the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor is located on the driver side cylinder head between #3 and #5 spark plugs.
right below the thermostat housing, ie follow the upper radiator hose (black) until it hits top of engine.
right underneath the thermostat housing.
The MAF is located on the intake side of the engine, usually between the airfilter and the throttle body. The ECT (Engine coolant temp sensor) is usually located on the side of the engine block.
The ECT (Electronic Coolant Temperature) sensor is located under the intake manifold on the driver's side on a 1995 Taurus SHO 3.2 liter. It is on the cylinder head.
P0117 will set if the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) reads over 248F when the engine has been running for 10 seconds. replace your coolant temp sensor. the sensor is located in the drivers side of the cylinder head, just below the valve cover line, under the coolant hose.
