It is located on the back of the block, right below the intake manifold, on the right side of the motor (looking from the front). When I found it, I couldn't actually see it. The intake needs to be removed to be able to see the OPSU and replaced.

There are 2 of them, And they are underneith the intake manifold.You will have to remove the intake manifold to get to them.
The 2002 GMC Sierra: temperature sensor is located on the front of the engine. The sensor will be just above the thermostat housing.

the knock sensors are located in the top of the engine block. The intake has to be removed to get to the sensors.
There is 2 of them on that engine and there both underneith the intake manifold. You will have to remove the intake to even see and get to them. No other way.
That engine has 2 knock sensors on it and both of them are underneith the intake manifold. You can not see are get to them until the intake has been removed.
