There is no flasher unit on a 97. It is controled by an LCM or Lighting Control Module. Dealership part and is pretty pricey.
how do you change the LCM on a 2000 Lincoln continential and where is it located In my 1998 the lighting control module is located under the dash to the right of the steering column. It is a black plastic box about 3" by 5" by 2" and clicking sounds can be heard from it when your blinkers are on. Remove the panel covering the area (2 plastic tabs), then the two 7mm screws fastening the LCM. Pull it out unplugging the wires clipped into it. According to Lincoln a replacement part is $700! I am not ready to make this purchase and hope my brake lights are not working due to another reason -- Are there any suggestions?
The Light Control Module is located under the Dash ,DRIVER SIDE, Above the Gas Pedal , It is anchored by 2 Hex head bolts, Use 1/4"socket driver to loosen them,There are 4 Connectors from engine side connecting them to this LCM ,do not confuse this module with power steering Control module that is located in passenger side . This module has special shape in a Black plastic casing. There is a website that specializes in this Lincoln Town Car LCMs. and shows the Picture and step by step removal instruction and symptom of problems and exact Part numbers for 1997 to Year 2000 Lincoln Town Cars, and all matching UPC codes. The Company is in Allen Park ,Michigan and its web site is MidwesttecKmart.com and their phone number is (313) 450-8245 and their price was most reasonable one.
There is no flasher on the 97. It is all controlled by the LCM or lighting control module. I believe it is between $200 and $400 for a dealership replacement.
It's integrated into the LCM (Lighting Control Module), located under the dash just below and to the right of the steering wheel. They are pricey.
The LCM is: 2001
There's not one, you have an LCM or lighting control module. It controls most all light functions and is pretty pricey and almost always must be obtained at the dealer.
What are you referring too when you say LCM? Please provide more info. Thanks
Probably under the drivers dash, next to the steering column
