Where is the O2 sensor on a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am SE?
most o2 sensors on any car are located in the exhaust you should have 1 before that cat and 1 after and they are cylinder shaped with 4 wires coming out
for a 97-03 grand prix there is a front and rear o2 sensor. bank 1 sensor 2 is the sensor located on the exhaust near the catalytic converter (cat) also known as the REAR sensor... bank 1 sensor 1 is located on the back of the engine on top of the exhaust manifold or headers would be the street term. thats the FRONT sensor.
If it is anything like the '96 Grand Am, it is located under a cover between the engine and firewall. The cover has 3 bolts in it. Remove the bolts and the cover and you will find the O2 sensor (front - the other is just after the catalytic converter.) You will need a 7/8" wrench to remove the part.
On a 92 grand prix se 34 map sensor iat sensor transaxle clutch and 2 codes for the o2 sensor going off would the o2 sensor trigger all those other things to happen if you kept driving?
The OBD II code: P1133 refers to your upstream oxygen sensor (the code refers to insuffcient switching). The 'upstream sensor' refers to the O2 sensor that's located on your down pipe between the fire wall and engine (BEFORE the cat). If you have to pull this sensor wait until your car is cool and spend the money for the O2 sensor tool, it really makes life easier! (It looks like a deep socket with a…
depends on the sensor .your question has to have more detail to it .Due to there is all kinds of sensors such as, temp sensor, knock sensor,o2 sensor, iac sensor, map sensor, idle air control sensor, mass air flow sensor, shift control sensors, transmission sensors, coolant sensors, hell there is even brake sensors and rear end sensors, some even have body sensors.
From what I have come to understand there are four o2 sensors, two on each side of the vehicle running from the exhaust manifolds. Each side has one o2 sensor before and one o2 sensor after the catalytic converter, therefore two o2 sensors on each side for a grand total of four. They are titled as such: Left side 1:1 refers to the o2 sensor above the catalytic converter also known as the upstream sensor…
