look right before the converter unless your pipes has been changed
oxygen sensor is found either in exhaust manifold or in actual exhaust pipe between manifold and muffler
Just downstream after the exhaust manifold
Check up by the manifolds or anywhere before the catalytic converter.
the fuel filter on a 1986 ford ranger is located on the inside of the frame on the drivers side in front of the gas tank.

The oxygen sensor is in the top center of the rear exhaust manifold.
They are supposed to be replaced every 60,000 miles and are located underneath the chassis by the catalytic converters
below exhaust manifold... left hand side... were the manifold joins into 1 pipe becoming the exhaust
Most oxygen sensors are located on the exhaust manifold or just after the manifold on the exhaust pipe(s). Your truck probably has two oxygen sensors, one on each side.
On the right side, beneath the intake piping that leads up to the throttle body, the O2 sensor is sticking out of the side of the exhaust manifold. No, it's on the left side, the driver's side.
The next step should be to check the oxygen sensor. If this isn't the issue then check the coil or coil pack to ensure proper firing.
