Unfortunately,, the Mazda engineers located the PCV valve on the 3.0L engines under the intake manifold--essentially right under the throttle body. You can't see it until you pull the upper intake manifold off. I would definitely change out the PCV valve if you are replacing the spark plugs since the manifold has to come off to get to the back 3 spark plugs. A big hint here,, the pcv valve has to be turned 90degrees to the left to get it out of the housing.. a 7/8" 12 point deep socket seems to work. Look at your new pcv valve and you will see what I mean. Once you finally feed in the new pcv valve,, it must be turned 90degrees to the right to get it onto place. A 12" set of needle nose pliers might help also to get the hose off the pcv valve.
