Facing the engine compartment you will see a black box on the left hand side just behind the headlamp. It's inside of this box. There are 2 clips that hold the lid in place. One on the right side near the front ofthe box and the other is on the rear of the box on the right side.

The cabin air filter on the Saturn Vue is on the passanger side up on the firewall. I think there is like 3 or 4 screws to remove. It is on the upper flat part of the firewall.
