The air filter is inside a black plastic "box" located just above the battery. All you have to do is unscrew the lid fo the container and pull the filter out. The new filter, and lid, should only fit one way, so you shouldn't need to worry about putting it in wrong. The is a picture of the air filter casing, and its location, in your manual.
