Actually , there isn't a drain plug , you would have to drop the transmission pan
if you want to change the transmission filter ( or , have a transmission flush done by
a shop which I've had done twice on my 1995 Ford Explorer and plan on having
done again )
If it has an automatic trans there i sn't a drain plug you have to remove the pan to drain the fluid.

Unfortunately , most automatic transmissions don't have a drain plug in the transmission pan , so the pan has to be dropped with transmission fluid in the pan . Can be quite messy !
