This is for at least all 2000-2004 Focus models Having a MTX-75 Manual Transmission on your ZETEC powered ZX3 it is: On the top side of the trans, 2 wire black plug, about straight down from the air intake on the bottom of the air box and slightly to the firewall, should be the only plug on the top side of the trans. Remove the air cleaner and battery with tray for easier access. If it is a iB5 Transmission 2.0L SPI SOHC: It is located on the front of the transaxle, next to the selector cable front cover. It is easier to access if you jack up the front left-hand side of the car. If it's an auto I'm not sure.
The switch for the backup light switch for an automatic transmission is located on the transmission where the shifting cable enters the transmission (The side of the transmission closest to the radiator),how about for the manual trans mission models?
on the side of the transmission
Car has manual transmission.
On the transmission, on the drivers side.
the reverse light switch.. aka backup light switch is located on the front of the transmission along the side screws into the transmission if standing in front of the car looking down at the transmission you can see it
switch is on side of transmission under the car
You didn't state weather it was an Automatic or Manual transmission. Well any way they are both on the transmission. Manual transmission has a separate switch for the backup lights the automatic is built into the neutral safety switch on the transmission. Automatic switch is about $50.00. Manual switch is about $10.00. Hope you have a manual it is a lot cheaper.
They are usually located down on the side of the transmission.
The backup light switch is located on the transmission behind the driver's side front wheel. If the wheel is removed, you can see the switch. It's located directly below the shift cables and is easily accessible with a 17 or 19mm wrench. The plug is a two wire type that has a latch that must be lifted up to remove the plug.
The backup light switch is located on the left side of the transmission. Disconnect the switch connectors, then unscrew the switch.
Look on the transmission, drivers side, in front of the cross member, toward the top.
The switch is part of the Park and Neutral safety switch for automatic transmission and cost close to $200 dollars, and is located in the transmission close to the shift gear cable. Now if you have a manual transmission then the cost is less money about $20 dollars because is a single switch and is close behind the starter.
its on the front of the transmission, near the trans pan
The backup light switch is located on the side of the transmission. It has two wires coming off of it but they are probably covered in wire wrap.
It's on the nose of the transmission
If you have an automatic transmission it is on top of he steering column just before it goes through the firewall. If you have a manual transmission it is on the transmission.
the backup light switch is part of the neutral start switch. it is located behind the shift lever at the bottom front of the transmission. it has about 8 wires coming out of the plug.
On a 1999 Saturn vehicle, the backup light switch is located on top of the shift housing, which is situated on the top of the transmission. This switch requires a 7/8' wrench for removal.
The switch is on the left sie of the transmission just in front of the speed sensor for a manual transmission.
that is usually mounted on the transmission case
There is a switch in the transmission (manual) and I believe also automatic that triggers your backup lights when you move (change gears) into reverse. If the switch (in the transmission) does not touch (trigger) the backup light switch; or if the switch is not working; you will not have any reverse lights. Also , if you have had any changes in your transmission due to lifting the body, or changing the original transmission; the lever that triggers the switch may not be able to come in contact with the backup light switch in the transmission. If you have this switch replaced by a garage it may run around $160 for the switch and another $100 to $200 for labor. If the transmission does not trigger the backup light switch in the first place ,due to changes in the transmission, or a body lift; then changing the switch will not make any difference; the backup lights still will not work.
Manual, top of transmission. Auto, inside the transmission.
If this is an automatic transmission, the switch is located on the driver side of the transmission housing where the linkage plugs into the transmission. If it is a manual transmission the clutch safety switch is located near the top of the clutch pedal.
It should be on the transmission where the shift rod or cable attaches.
