Believe it or not your local dealership is the best place to source a new motor. they not only have the best prices and warranty, they can also serve as an installation source. Be careful of the engines that come from some of the auto parts retailers. I won't mention names specifically but some of them aren't the best and although they'll guarantee the engine for you, it's a pain to remove the old one and put in the new one. You can get a "crate" engine from the dealer, typically it's about $1500 to $2000 plus you'll need water pump, hoses, belts, filters and typical stuff like that. Inevitably you'll find a bad motor mount or crack a radiator tank so that sends the overall price up. Another really good option is to find a well respected automotive machine shop in your area and have them rebuild YOUR engine. Some of the more exclusive shops only do the machine work and you'd need to re-assemble the engine yourself or have someone do it for you. But you'll end up with a much better engine when you're done, and possibly save a few dollars, provided that you can do it yourself. What part of the country are you in?
