I just replaced mine last weekend.
The controller is $58 at Ford. Skip your local auto parts store search. They won't have it.
Facing the firewall: The controller is to the right of the A/C cooling tower. It's in the plastic shroud.
Remove the inlet and return hoses to your heater core for easy access. Above that there is a round electrical device. Remove that too. 2 screws.
2 Screws hold the controller in place.
It's an easy fix.

I have not worked on your model, however, most of the resistors are accessable once the glove box door is removed. I suggest you buy this part from your Ford dealer and then ask them to print out the picture of the resistors location for you. I hope this helps you. Mark If you look to the right of the blower box between the engine and blower box you will see two screws going into the evap core container.
