On the D21 series pickups with the 2.4 L 4-cylinder (maybe the Frontier as well), the bypass connector is located under the throttle body assembly. It is hardly visible from either the top or bottom of the engine. However, you can clearly see the heater hoses leading from the firewall to it. Good luck if you need to replace or service it; it is quite fragile and difficult to remove.
