I'm not a mechanic / technician but from what I have read the cam
position sensor on the Ford 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine is on the top of the
engine , near the centerline , near the firewall ( apparently you can't see it
until the upper intake manifold is removed )
the cranck sensor is on front of engine it reads the teeth on crank pulley.the cam sensor is on top of same side of engine.
Does not have a cam sensor on a 7.3L IDI this engine is not computer controlled.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : 4.0 litre EFI , V6 engine : From what I have read the camshaft position sensor is on top of the engine , about the center line , at the rear of the engine near the firewall You can't see it with the " plastic " intake manifold installed
On top of the cam sensor synchonizer which is sticking out of the top of the timing cover on the front of the engine.
Research associated engine problems.
The 94 and 95 are the same,no cam sensor.1996 and 1997 are differant in one way.The 1996 and 1997 have a cam sensor. .The 97 has a cam sensor and the 94 does not.The 1996 has a cam sensor too.
where is a cam sensor on a 2006 ford f250 6.0L diesel engine?
I found my cam sensor near the right side (if you are looking at the engine) of the engine near the fuel injection system. Careful it is tricky to get at.
It is in the distributor.
The cam sensor is located on the top of the engine where older models had a distributor installed. The sensor needs a special tool to be able to remove and replace it.
on the right side of the engine
On a single cam ford focus 2000-2001 the cam position sensor is below the pcv valve. If looking at the engine it is on the right side, rear, about a 3inches from the top of the engine.
