Was able to replace the cam shaft sensor by removing the alternator, didnt have to remove the power steering pump.Used an extended mirrir to locate the sensor and removed it with a 1/4" drive 10mm long socket.NOTE: The alternator comes out by reoving 2 bolts, lay it off to the side and reach down and you can feel it. GOOD LUCK>
It could be on either end of the cylinder head, or in a distributor.
CMP= Cam Shaft Position Sensor.
I would like to know where the cam sensor is on a 1999 pathfinder and is there one or they calling it a crank shaft sensor The cam shaft position sensor is located in the distributor.
The cam sensor is inside the distributor.
It does not have one on that year.
in the distributer
the camshaft position sensor is used to synchronize the fuel injection system with the opening of the intake valves. It synchs the cam shaft location with the crankshaft location It can be in a distributor or it can read a tone wheel on the cam shaft.
The sensor on the CAM SHAFT!
Next to the distributor
where is the cam shaft position sensor on a 98 ford explorer 4x4 4.0 sohc 4x4
The sensor is located directly above the crankshaft pulley. The camshaft sensor also connects with the crankshaft position sensor.
Its either your cam shaft position sensor or the crank sensor.
spelling error - sensor - detects camshaft position for engine controller
Behind the timing chain cover
In the distributor.
Crank sensor is in the top of the transmission housing at the back of the engine. Cam position sensor is in the distributor.
The cam sensor is in the distributor.
On a 1997 Ford Aerostar : From what I have read , the cam shaft position sensor ( which is on top of the cam shaft position synchronizer ) on the 4.0 liter EFI V6 engine is on the top of the engine , near the center line , at the rear of the engine near the firewall * apparently you can't see it without the upper intake manifold being removed
It informs the PCM (computer) where the cam position is so it can fire the injectors at the right time
a 1993 doesn't have a cam sensor. the crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the engine directly above the crankshaft pulley
The camshaft position sensor is on the driver side end of the cylinder head.
The camshaft position sensor is right under the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump to access the sensor.
If it has a 4.3 V-6 it is in the disturber.
Front driver side corner of engine.
That would be the distributor.
The cam shaft position sensor uses the "Hall Effect" to tell the ecu ( car's computer ) where the cam shaft is in it's rotation. This information is used by the ecu to fire off the coil ( or coils ) and the injectors at the correct time.
