How fixed camshaft sensor circuit low input
YOu need to remove the belt off the front of the engine, it is under the plastic cover in the top. It has three wires plugged into it. On mine one was black and blue, one was blue, and one was green. I found one at a wrecking yard.
The coolant temperature sensor is located under the hood of the car. The sensor is located to the left of the brake booster at the rear of the engine.Ê
IAW the Mitchell shop manual, the CPS is located top front of the engine between the camshafts. The plastic covered wire going into the sparkplug cover probably goes to it. (may need to remove the top cam belt cover to see it---not real sure as I haven't been into it yet. As I understand, the CPS regulates the fuel to the engine. As I have one that is defective/dirty/out of adjustment, the tailpipe is sooty to the touch.
First, if you have a check engine light then have a shop scan for codes. That will tell you what is wrong. If it is bad then it will stall, hesitate, and blow out black smoke.
Open the HOOD and located just inward from the fan is a hose connection on the front top face of the engine block. Atop the stem the hose is attached to there may be a pair of wires (possibly covered in black bundles) with a clip attached to that sensor (CAUTION: Hot Engine should be allowed ample cooling time before servicing, and CAP on RADIATOR should first be removed, alleviating pressure at hoses, to replace the sensor)
For the 2.2 liter engine it's located between the fire wall and the engine near the top.
