open the rear hatch, It is located on the driver side under the deck/ next to the spare. there is a post in the engine compartment for jumpstart or charging on the driver side.

You remove the black cable from the post under the hood, on the driver side strut tower.You remove the black cable from the post under the hood, on the driver side strut tower.

Check the wires pretty much everywhere under the hood. The fuses for the engine are under the hood anyway, not under dash. Make sure wire going to starter isn't burnt through. Good Luck!!
There is a small post under the hood will allow you to connect the + (positive) to it and the - (negative) to the chassis

Yes if it touched the positive battery post or a live terminal and a ground it would short out.
