There is a switch that gets engaged when you press in the clutch pedal. It's located just below the clutch master cylinder.
Is your clutch pedal depressed? If it is, check switch on clutch pedal.

No
Check for power at the clutch switch, then check for continuity through the switch with the clutch pedal depressed. If there is power and continuity, then the starter (or even ignition solenoid/starter relay) is the problem.
any information on 87 Honda accord with the clutch/
No switch. Check the relay for the fuel pump.
Sounds like ignition switch needs replacement
Locate the clutch switch. The switch is usually black and located on the firewall. The switch contacts close when the clutch is depressed. There are two wires going into the switch....Tap into each of these wires and route these taps to positions #30 and #87 on a standard 30 amp 12 volt relay. Next wire the remote start's status or ground when running wire to position #85 on the relay. (make sure this wire has a negative output.) Finally tap into the truck's yellow starter wire located in the truck's ignition harness and wire it into position #86 on the relay.
